| I have drank beer (in a pint-style!), watched the Edmonton Oilers play hockey, been taught the proper way to say "out" "about" "house" etc., and even tried saying "eh" after everything (I don't like it, I'm pretty sure!).
And, its been SO cold here.
So, Canada, eh?!
I love it so far! To be at a daily newspaper this big is a dream come true- my editor totally trusts me with huge stuff after 2 days on the job. Yeah, no I'm serious. I am going tomorrow morning with one of the lead reporters to Caledonia, where there has been a long stand off between natives & townspeople, throwing of bread & cheese (seriously), and vandalism of a power plant, leaving the entire community behind road blockades in the dark. The only neutral ground? Tim Hortons. (the canadian equivalent of Dunkin Donuts, except I'm convinced they put crack in that coffee-- these canucks are totally addicted!)
And on the side, I am working on a full page graphic to run in a few weeks. Yeah, full -pager. All by my bitty self, too.
Its AMAZING.
All that, and Toronto is absolutely breathtaking. The city is BEAUTIFUL. Its not dirty here, nor is it exceptionally noisy, there is just the right amount of bustle without frenzy, people are kind and they think its hilarious that I say ya'll occasionally, and love to teach me all about Canada.
I may not come home at this rate!
